Forget what it says in the Aide Memoire, ICATQ went out of the window a while ago.

Paul Routledge is really beginning to pi$$ me off, and I have written to The Mirror again.

I know it makes me look stupid, but what is ICATQ?

I Cannot Answer That Question. It used to be taught that any question that was not a direct query about the Big 6 got the ICATQ response. We learned the hard way that that just upsets the captors and gets people killed, so now we do it differently, and centres on keeping the "interviews" to subjects of little or no operational value.

Thankyou

I remember now, but if I was under threat of death/torture, which they maybe, I would say what they wanted and play dumb about any sensative stuff

Read this bile and remember, they are all being disgracefully exploited. And IMHO, this letter or view was NOT Faye Turneys.

New Turney letter attacks British and US governments
Iran yet to release 15 British sailors, including Faye Turney
- Search: Sailors held hostage

The Iranian Embassy has released a third letter purportedly written by British sailor Faye Turney on Friday saying she has been "sacrificed" to the policies of the British and US governments.

The letter, addressed to the British people, also said that Turney had been treated well, unlike the prisoners held at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

"I am writing to you as a British serviceperson who has been sent to Iraq, sacrificed due to the intervening policies of the Bush and Blair governments," the letter said.

"Whereas we hear and see on the news the way that prisoners were treated in Abu Ghraib and other Iraqi jails by the British and American personnel, I have received total respect and faced no harm," she said.

"It is now our time to ask our government to make a change to its oppressive behavior towards other people."

The following is the full text of a letter purportedly written by captured British sailor Faye Turney and addressed to the British people. The letter was released by the Iranian Embassy in London.

To British People,

I am writing to you as a British service person who has been sent to Iraq, sacrificed due to the intervening policies of the Bush and Blair governments.

The Iranian people treated me well and have proved themselves to be caring, compassionate, hospitable, and friendly. For this I am thankful.

I believe that for our countries to move forward, we need to start withdrawing our forces from Iraq, and leave the people of Iraq to start rebuilding their lives.

I have written a letter to the people of Iran apologising for our actions.

Whereas we hear and see on the news the way prisoners were treated in Abu Ghraib and other Iraqi jails by the British and American personnel, I have received total respect and faced no harm.

That c0ckhead Paul Routledge has spouted another load of sh!te in his column. (Didn't he say that we in the forces should get a grip last week?)

Now he thinks that parents of young kids shouldn't go on det. :PDT_Xtremez_35:
Hmmm, I almost hesitate to say this because I'd hate to be associated with someone as odious as Paul Routledge but actually I agree with him.

Ever since women were first admitted into combat roles I have been uncomfortable with it. My own personal morality tells me that there is something inherently sick about a society that hides behind women's skirts and to ask a mother to go off an fight a war is to my mind quite disgusting.

Against that though these women do join the forces of their own free will and so must take what comes with the job. Personally I don't like it, I find it morally objectionable that we allow them to do it but while society allows them to do it and they willingly volunteer then they must accept that there may be consequences.

These are my own personal views and I have no interest in justifying them any further. Yes, I am a throwback to another age but I am unapologetic about that. It's just what I believe.

TT, women are not assigned close combat roles in UK HM Forces. I do not see how a role as part of a naval boarding party in terratorial waters would be classed as combat. They are now pawns in a big game of international poker and I for one, hope we have the winning hand..

If the government is playing poker then it'll be holding 7, 2 off suit....and EVERY poker player knows how crap that hand is !!

Crack on................:PDT_Xtremez_09:

In other words tashy man were screwed then

Iran want the UK and US troops out of iraq is that so they can go back in and take over?

It suits Iran's purposes for us to pull out of Iraq and allow the country to destroy itself in the power vacuum that would follow. Iran would then be able to challenge Saudi Arabia as the principle power in the region and all because we have destabilised Iran's biggest neighbours.

point one the latest letter is even more crap badley translated from english to english!!!!!
point two i think we should set the entire parachute regiment on this c0ck bag journo scum bag for a spot of milling. then at least he will never be able to spout **** again, people like him really twist my nuts

press in this country are a bunch of to**ers!
must be hell for the families of those that have been captured.
they dont think about that.
Russains have screwed us at UN becasue they are making too much money out of selling Iran arms.

UN is becoming like the league of nations. fu**in joke!
we were there doing their bloody work carrying out their mandate. the Russians are back on the up and they are making shedloads of money out of the Iranians.
8 Days now. really feel for the families of all those involved.
i dont think we can blame Blair. there is not much he can do. Military Action is a massive NO. still not sure where they are et and it could potentially kick off.
Iran is going to be very isoltaed very soon. sanctions over their nukes are hurting them. they have US and British troops on either side and an embattled PM who is lashing out trying to thumb his nose at the west. we will win this one in the end. but its round 2, 3 or 4 that worry me.
honestly though, reallistically what can Blair do?

There's no way these are Faye's words, slightly off topic but my brother and his other half are friends of John Peters (Tornado Down) and when he was paraded on telly they both said no fcuking way is that John etc. In a different era these tw@ts would've been given short shrift but not nowadays, we are continually being let down by fcuking diplomats who are only interested in the next Pimms party and mutual masturbation session. Isolate the fcukers totally and let's see how they get on, Russia should make it's mind up and stop being total cnuts! This act is criminal, full stop. As for those dozy tw@ts showing banners about executing the trespassers etc, what has the toothless UN got to say about that? Fcuk all as usual, oxygen bandits!::/:

The strain on this young woman must be intolerable. And she should not be under such strain, because she should not have been there in the first place. (because she should of been out of this position no longer than 3 days after it happened) The person I feel sorry for in this appalling situation is little Molly, the wean that Mrs Turney left behind. A three-year-old understands a lot. (true everyone feels for her nipper and the rest of the family and the familys of the lads that are stuck there with her)Too much, sometimes. I assume she is not allowed to watch TV or see the newspapers and defence propaganda chiefs have despatched a "media shielder" to the family home.

A bit late, if you ask me. The brasshats have already made leading seaman Turney a media celebrity, for their own military and political purposes. And she doesn't even know it yet. Of course she will be used as a tool for propaganda on both sides, we would do the same as the Iranians its how things work, unfortunately Tony Bliar would of caved with 20mins of hostages being taken

The whole crazy business is a spectacular own goal for the Iranians. Taking hostage a boatload of naval ratings has done Tehran huge diplomatic harm. The ayatollahs deserve the international obloquy now being heaped on their heads.

But the exploitation of Faye by both sides leaves an unpleasant taste in the mouth.

A diplomatic solution to this fiasco must swiftly be found.
Probably the only original and decent thing said in the whole article IMHOA solution to the moral issue of mother-and-child relationships in the armed services will take rather longer. I would rather face 10 single blocks on a battlefield than 2 women (most likely on PMT) who want to get back home to there children, they will fight harder just so they can get back to their kids

Sorry about it going on a bit, but that Mirror/BBC t**ser should be shot, but on my last point how many blokes would think nothing of stepping in between two blokes having a fight to calm it down a bit, but would think more than twice before stepping in between two women (they fight dirty) lol

On a tangent slightly, and this is not trying to stir up the sh*t, but why is our press focussing on the one woman in a party of 15???? Surely at least one of the other 14 is a parent. God knows they are someone's child. So why the lack of coverage??

Genuine question. But it reminds me of last year when the Lynx crashed in Basra City, the papers focussed on the one female crew member then. And a few days later, two lads from the R Anglian Regt were killed and their story was printed, along with a picture of........ you guessed it, Flt Lt Sarah-Jayne Mulvihill!

The press really do grip my sh*t sometimes.

Just that word scares the fook out of me. Its obvious that Iran have composed the letter/s and they have put that word in there.

As for the rest of the world, fcuking useless. Lets try and scare Iran with pointless words.
Strange how Russia was being particular over the wording of the statement from the UN wasnt it? NOT!!
We should now look around the table and take note of who isnt helping. In the future we should tell em to shove it when they want help.
"United" Nations my arse!

Whatever happened to the Great in Great Britain. They should have been released days ago, non of this namby pamby pussyfooting around crap.

the great started going when the early trails of LEAN were introduced and the empire was lean back to a couple of rocks here and there!!!

I'm trying to understand why we have had no live TV broadcast by our strongest ally (GWB apparently) deploring Iranian action. I know they have been staging "exercises" in the area to flex a bit of muscle but everyone knows (including the Iranian ragheads) NOTHING is gonna happen.

They could have these guys (and gal) YEARS and WTF are we or anyone else gonna do about it...FCUK ALL.

I didn't hold much hope at the start of this and every day that passes makes it worse and worse.

P.S. will the government stop the 15 guys LSSA as they are being housed and fed by a foriegn government...save them a few quid.......(i bet someone in government has thought of it......OUTCRY if it happened)

Crack on.................:PDT_Xtremez_09:

The USA only cares about the British when it suits them.

And while the Iranian hold 15 illegally , how many foriegners do the USA hold illegally?

We will get nothing from the Yanks!!
