CPL - SGT Board 2011

yep

yep

Yep - Spread sheet is up. Adding to what I said earlier, they only reached 79 out of the 102 they predicted last year.

I have heard that is why they did a vastly reduced PSB this time round. To avoid missing the end of the list.

You never know, they may get past the quoter 60, (Like the previous PSB)..... Or am I being a Bit hopeful... (I am number 60!)

who knows?

who knows?

Then why release 31 before it's ratified? Sounds more like the drafters had a long week off for the wedding.

according to the brief we received last month by the 'promotion board roadshow' , the board is ratified usually during the last two days of the board sitting period and will always be ratified by the last day of the board

Not even graded, as AR was not handed in on time. ****ed off to say the least as it was completed well in time by 1st and 2nd ro

That would be enough to p*** anybody off but I think you need to put a bit more meat on the bones of that statement if you want the e-goat community to comment without bias. Despite being devoid of all the facts or any mitigating circumstances that contributed to you being ungraded, I still think I could make a compelling argument against you the individual, your ROs or Unit HR as to where the blame should or could be apportioned. If there has been a genuine processing error by your line management or HR then I would suggest you speak to all concerned and they instigate the appropriate documented corrective action for you.

Have any offers gone out yet and do the lucky 30 have an ex 3 or 11 background?

I wonder if they will all be destined for Yorkshire?

Does anyone know someone who has had an offer of promotion? Where did they get offered?

Well, i've dropped to a B aswell, going from one of those promotable 102 (i was 102) to a B is a bit of a kick in the teeth, i'll give it one more shot then i'm on my way to civvy street once my 22 is up in december 2014.

Still at least now that i know i am staying put , i can plan for my family's future a bit better, and i can put in my LTD.

Well done to all those who came off, it must have been one hell of a board this year, so you've all obviously earned it.

roight, where's that presidents report.

I am curious as to why the number has been dropped from 31 to 30. Surely they still need those 31 posts filling, so the fact that manning screwed up and boarded someone who had been promoted, and was in the top 31, should just bump everyone up a place?
Just a thought thats all, are they doing it to save face, about a cock up?

They haven't screwed up as they only asked for 30 to be released and not 31. Thus the fact one of those people in the top 30 was already promoted (everyone makes mistakes) meant No 31 had to be released to give them the 30 names they needed for the initial release.

There is no saving face required, they are doing what they said - an initial release of 30.

I say 31 because my chf clk was told 31 last monday, and then the report changed to 30.

'The quota was 60, with an immediate release of 31'

Obviously I may be being a bit cynical, but it's surprising all those within their last year or 2 dropping to a B Grade - Luckily there's no redundancies in the trade (or will 'natural wastage' be taking care of that) !

I think it's more to do with the time some have had to wait. 6 years of good reports and in one lads case here being on the last 3 boards and not getting it, makes it a bit soul destroying. He's on this one bit don't think they will get to him despite being in the field of the last one.
Stuff that might make you stand out in your first year in rank wont have the same impact if you've been doing that sort of stuff for years.
Shame really.

Don't I know it ! I myself had 6 months left till my 22 when promoted. Went to PSF to ask for signing on papers after my courses - told to come back in a month or 2, got some movement when I told them I had 32 days left in the RAF :)
After ping-ponging up and down the promotion ladder I was resigned to coming out and doing resettlement courses, then they came along and spoiled it !!
Don't think I dropped to a B though, but it defies logic that someone has just missed it one year, then a B the next ! :PDT_Xtremez_34:

Well there's probably in the region of 50 odd personnel who have dropped from an A to a B,

240ish A's last year and only 120ish this year (meaning about 120 less A's)

Take off the figure of around 70 personnel who've been promoted leaves around 50 left.

This is simply a mathematical result and doesn't take into account the improvement of some in the trade whilst others may have 'stood still' where assessments are concerned.

Don't be too disheartened at going from an A to a B, some of us are 'C' grade candidates coming off an assessment of A- average grade with a spot on write up and had been doing Acting Sgt. for 3 months of the reporting period (and getting good comments in my assessment regarding that too). Suffice to say my Chf Clk has had a phone call!!

Edit - and I've got enough seniority, time left and haven't got into any bother this year (or any other) so I ruled those reasons out.

Alot of similar posts this year! Interesting to note if any of those who did shine and of those who didn't, did they do a serious sunshine tour (on or off the wing) or not? A possible reason to shine?!!!
