I've done over 16 years, and nearly 8 as a Cpl now.

Haven't been near the wing for a long while now...can't see that lasting!:PDT_Xtremez_32:

I've never been on TCW, but have done Rapier and JNCBR when I was a JT, suspect that that i will end up at 90SU sooner rather than later

who knows

who knows

How about the link between those selected and OOA in a hot spot? the few I know of have been OOA to a hot spot in the last 3 years. I know many of us have due to the nature of the job now. Maybe if you are a Bahrain vet it is looked at less of a testing environment? A few I thought may be in with a shout went to the FI and were lower down the list.

Was told that they are upto at least 30th, but thats from a second hand source, so no abuse pls. :PDT_Xtremez_42:

I thought the first 35 were listed as "Immediate"? I may be wrong of couse. All those people who don't like what they are offered, Please feel free to turn it down, More leftovers for the rest of us!Spamout

I can promise you that someone in the first 35 has not been offered it yet :PDT_Xtremez_26:

From reading on here and the grapevine, there are at least 5 that have stayed in location so if there were 35 slots desperate to be filled I guess they will stay that way until they work down the list. I will let you guess where the initial offer was.

To be fair its only been a month.

To be fair, you are on the whole a bunch of whinging f4ggots. Rather than being pleased you have been picked up, all you are doing is bleating about the position you are on the list/where you are posted to.

Judging by a LOT of the comments, more than half of you don't have the fcuking maturity to be SNCOs.:PDT_Xtremez_25:

Read through it again...I can't see anyone bleating. I think they call it discussing.

Prat.

No26 has signed on the dotted line and is off to 90SU!!, anyone else going up there in the next couple of months?

I know the waiting is painful but take some comfort in the fact that you have indeed been picked up!

As upcoming SNCO's you are probably already aware that the number is not really important, what counts is that you have been released in the current batch?

A release of say 30 doesn't distingush between 1 or 30, ACOS manning will tell you that your JPA preferences are king but if your choice isn't available or not likely to become available within that release period, say promotions in first 6 months, then you will probably get whatever is available at the end of that period.

I'm TG1 but I've been going through the same waiting game myself.

My advice, give ACOS the solution. Do some research, phone sections, lower expectations but try and offer a solution as close to your 'dream sheet' as possible.

Just my thoughts, all the best to everyone in the frame.

Chad

One of our guys has been picked up, but is not being sent to an area of choice "as a test of his commitment" :S
(apparently he's been in the same general area too long)
He's taking it, but is slightly miffed !

Im in the first 35 and im pretty pragmatic about the whole thing.

I have areas I would prefer to go, including staying at my current location, but I know that at the end of the day, the decision is not mine, but the drafters.

I will be disapointed to move on, having been in my area for only a year or so, but I will go none the less, thats for sure!

Regarding the posts about people whining, I dont agree and think that the first one or two pages of this thread aside, its been a pretty civil discussion.

Chad's right. If you can see a solution to your posting issues then make sure that your JPA preferences reflect that. I've had contact with PMA this week and you can be sure that our JPA preferences are being looked at prior to a decision being made as to where you're going.

I just think that if all you've got on there are your areas of choice and not specific posts or roles then your opening yourself up for a posting that you don't want.

Completely agree.

I have tried to make my areas of choice as 'likely' as possible and used the comments box as much as possible (Including stating some areas beyond the 3 allowed).

As I said, I will go where im told, but as Nomad/Chad have stated, why not make it easier for the drafter and hopefully give yourselves a better chance by populating a few fields on JPA? :PDT_Xtremez_30:

I will only have been at my location for 7 months by the time i move, my little lad has only just started nursury after waiting for a space and my missus has just started her new job. I'm a bit disapointed to be moving, BUT i'd be stupid to turn it down, things are that competative now i doubt that i'd ever be given the chance again. Most people I know would prefer to stay where they are given the choice, however its not always the case. I know that i'm going to replace a person who has had 4 yrs min of being on det, ex or courses. It's just my turn thats they way that i am looking at it.
