PAYD Bringing ISS To Its Knees

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Well if that was the reply, you wave the JSP under their nose. If they think they can get away with it.. They will. Todo that, they bank on people not knowing the regulations....

As already mentioned the JRs here in Fife dont even have a mess at the minute....shambolic doesnt come close

Whats gripped people here was the removal (ahem...Theft!) of all (incl privately owned....whether PAT tested or not) cooking implements from the blocks......the lads are living on takeaways because the CHOICE!!! has been removed. The biggest problem with our bunch of commissioned idiots......and yes that is how they are seen....is that they assume the juniors are stupid. This Air Force is fooked and im glad ill soon have no part of it :PDT_Xtremez_25:

This seems absolutely disgusting.

I used to be at said Fife airbase and the food served over the counter in Delta was quite good. I remember the lads complaining when Pay as you Starve came in... but I didn't realise how bad it had become!

As all their own personal cooking implements have been removed... where are the lads supposed to eat? Do they have to share the SNECS mess? Or are they left with a choice of the Spar shop and the old 191 cafe?

PM if you don't want to be too controversial on the open net! :PDT_Xtremez_06:

So I'm guessing Brize is catering for over 100 people so that means 3 core choices compared to the 1 they are offering. I wonder if they are including the omelette and veggie option as the other 2 core choices

Hmmm, I wonder how the rest of the world of shift workers manage to eat and still function properly?

Perhaps in the rest of the world shift workers are allowed to use cooking machines in their places of residence, just a thought.

As I said, they may bank on people not knowing the rules.... Take them to task..... You never know!

dont know.....dont care, and the scary thing is neither does anyone else........as i said before this air force is proper boll@x@d

Many years ago whilst at Leconfield on SAR (Army run), I remember that part of the orderly Sgt and orderly Officers job was to check the Mess food standards. That said it was for some time the worst Mess that I've ever eaten in, however the point is someone should be set to task to take ownership of the current situation.
The upper management really have lost the plot if they think accepting a shoddy service is not going to have an impact on morale!
The whole thing sounds like a joke, someone signed a contract to monopolise the whole catering situation on base...... I'm not laughing!

At the fife fighter base, if you were on nights there was nothing open after 9, not even any vending machines, the duty supper got scrapped the reintroduced at a sqn feeder then scrapped again so if you were on nights you had no option to have a pack lunch or a pizza from down the village pre PAYD there was duty supper and a all night vending area, ( now the Jr bar in delta)

How did that come to pass, surely a mess must be provided?

Also don't forget that if you are working nights..

Sleep through breakfast

1st meal 1100 to 1200 ish

then mess closes

2nd meal only a few hours later when mess opens at 15:45 as night shift starts at 16:30.

Mess closes 17:30

Next meal ??? Could be a whopping 19 hours between meals !!!

Echoing the previous post, maybe one of the public-accessable pages on the Goat could be adapted as a Flickr-type page to show examples of what constitutes a core meal RAF wide - perhaps invite comment on nutritional value and value for money as a starter.......?

gawd dammit ive just spent 3 weeks at the RAF junior airmans training base near london and was disgusted i so wanted to take pics of the meals. There was hardly any choice, and as i am a little fussy i ended up having omelette all the time (which i must say was fantastic every time).
The worst bit was i decided one saturday to have a ham and chesse bagette and a can of coke...cost £4.45!!!!! i could have got a foot long sub and coke for less than that from..... you guessed it subway.

At least at the RAF camp next to the big rock in the med there is no PAYD which is ace for when i cant be arsed bringing a packed lunch in from my FQ

Hope they go bust the robbing cnuts

It was encouraged to place pictures on here (of a suitable size and format) and that offer still stands but I agree that a well written and presented blog that picks up support would be more affective.
